All you need to know about spray bodywork refinishing

A bodywork spray is a can of paint used when a defect appears on the car's paintwork. Whether it's to correct scratches or repair parts damaged over time, a can of paint is perfect and very easy to use. Why use spray paint for bodywork?

A can of body paint is much more suitable for touching up your vehicle. This is because a can of paint saves the bodyshop time in terms of the amount of work required. How do I use a can of paint?

To use a can of paint on your car or motorbike, it's important to use smooth, horizontal, even strokes to achieve optimum results.

Step 1: We recommend that you shake your spray paint can well before use.

Step 2: Depending on the work to be carried out, we recommend applying two to three coats of Paint at a distance of between 20 and 30 centimetres from the surface to be treated.

Step 3: Once the paint has dried properly, you can apply a protective Clearcoat for a clean finish.

Tech'team tip: when applying your spray paint, it is advisable to keep the spray straight at 90° to the area you are going to work on.

What are the different types of Spray?

There are different types of bodywork spray. Below is a summary of the different ranges:

SPRAY PRIMERS

This type of spray is applied before the Basecoat. It is used to correct any remaining defects caused by the application of Putty. It also helps the paint adhere more easily to the surface of your bodywork.

CLEARCOAT SPRAY

Spray Clearcoat gives your paintwork a smooth, shiny finish. This type of spray protects the surface of your vehicle from the various imperfections that can appear:

This Clearcoat spray can from 4CR is perfect for applying to wheel rims, bumper joints and rear-view mirror shells. It's suitable for all kinds of Spot-repairs. This product dries fairly quickly and is weather and light resistant. It is important to check that the surfaces to be treated are completely clean and dry.

 

Tech'team tip: We recommend applying several thin layers and waiting about three to five minutes between each layer.

THINNER SPRAY

This range of sprays is perfect for light work on your car or motorbike. It's transparent and gives a smooth, shiny surface for a result that lives up to your expectations. This Thinner will even out the gap between the painted surface and the old one.

This 4CR High Solid 2K Thinner is packaged in 400ml cans. It is ready to use straight away. We advise you to apply this product in several Thin layers for a better result at a minimum distance of 30 centimetres.

 

Tech'team tip: it's important to shake the product for about 1 minute before use.

ANTI-CORROSION SPRAY

This anti-corrosion product is a Putty packaged in spray format. It is ideal for repairs to the various welded areas of your vehicle. It dries very quickly and is very easy to apply to the bodywork. The principle remains the same: it's important to apply the can from a distance of around 30 to 40 centimetres, depending on the area to be worked on.

This grey zinc Putty is highly effective in the fight against corrosion. This product, packaged in a 400ml spray, is a quality product with a zinc content of over 90%.

Tech'team tip: this product is also suitable for spot welding.

AEROSOL PUTTY

A Spray Putty can be used to correct large and small defects in your bodywork. This sprayable putty is easy to use, easy to sand and gives your car or motorbike good adhesion. What's more, it also dries very quickly.

This sprayable putty from 4CR is a particularly high-performance putty in its field. It can be used in two ways: as a filling putty or for finishing work. This product leaves a smooth, pore-free surface. We recommend spraying several coats for best results.

 

Tech'team tip: After using this product, it's important to turn the spray upside down and then spray the Nozzle to avoid the product drying out in the spray head.

 

SPRAY PLASTIC CLEANER

This range of Spray sprays will thoroughly clean all the plastic surfaces on your bodywork (such as the dashboard). Also available in a 400ml spray, this product is transparent and leaves no residue. In fact, this product is used to clean, protect and renovate plastic parts to give your vehicle a new shine.

This plastic cleaner from the 4CR range is highly recommended for this type of work. It's highly effective for restoring all your vehicle's damaged plastic parts to like-new condition. It's equally effective on the inside and outside of your bodywork.

SPRAY PAINT FOR BODYWORK
