Refinishing a car's paintwork involves repairing one or more parts of your car or motorbike without repairing the entire bodywork. The aim is to blend the colour of your paint by gradually removing the old and new parts of your car or motorbike.
The aim of the splice is to ensure that the colours of the different parts of your car are the same, so that the paint is fully integrated into the entire surface of your bodywork.
How is a car paintwork finish applied?
A paint splice is used to correct minor defects in certain areas of your bodywork. Small scratches or imperfections can be repaired without having to redo your entire car paintwork. Save time and money by correcting defects as soon as they appear without waiting to have to redo your entire body surface.
Step 1: Put your vehicle in the shade before doing any work on it.
Tech'team tip: It's important to wash your entire car or motorbike, even if you're only working on a small area. This step is essential to ensure that the result meets your expectations.

Step 2: Clean your entire car or motorbike in the shade for a cleaner result. We recommend using SHAMPOL with a sheepskin glove. Once your vehicle is clean and completely dry, mask only the parts of the bodywork you wish to work on. To avoid scratching unused areas, use the 1190.5051 roller to protect the ends. For a clean job, mask adjacent areas with kraft(krafteco, kraftpremium, kraftxx) and sotch 1126.xxxx.
Tech'team tip: We recommend that you check the technical data sheet and the safety data sheet before using any chemical product.

Step 3: Remember to prepare your surface thoroughly using P120 grit, as your bodywork must be spotless before proceeding with the work.
Step 4: Once the cleaning is complete and the car is dry, apply the putty of your choice to the affected area. Puttying is essential to ensure that the primer adheres perfectly to your bodywork.
Step 5: Once the putty has been applied, the next step is sanding. This step will allow the Paint to adhere properly to the car's surface.
Step 6: Apply your primer to the area you want to work on, then wait for it to dry properly before applying the paint.
Step 7: Once you've found your paint colour code (see below), get a spray gun and apply the paint to the surface of your bodywork, taking care to always keep the same spraying distance. Once this is done, wait for the paint to dry properly and, depending on your choice, apply a second coat of paint.
