What are the advantages of PPG paint?
The paints in PPG's Envirobase range are for PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY. They have excellent application properties and durability on your car surface:
1- Optimum colour reproduction:
T4003 Paint is an integral part of the Envirobase High Performance formulation system, renowned for its exceptional colour accuracy, including metallic, pearlescent and special finishes. The pigment contained in T4003 ensures high colour stability for the bodybuilder and perfect integration into the manufacturer's formulas.
2- Water-based technology:
Thanks to its waterborne formulation, galaxy blue meets the strictest European VOC standards, while guaranteeing excellent performance. It helps reduce solvent emissions in body shops, improving working conditions for professionals.
3- Excellent wetting and coverage:
Its high opacifying power limits the number of coats to be applied, reducing product consumption and working time. It provides even coverage and good adhesion to properly prepared primers and substrates.
How do I use Envirobase Paint - PPG?
1. Degreasing your car surface :
Wash to remove residues and dry thoroughly before cleaning again with VOC D8401 Low Water Degreaser. Wipe dry with a clean, dry cloth.
2. Sanding and application of body primer :
Sand your surface using a P500 grit Abrasive discs. The Envirobase tint can be applied over the range of PPG primers compatible with waterborne bases such as GreyMatic UHS 2K primers.
3. Choice of Thinner :
For repairs below 35°C, we recommend Envirobase Thinner deionised water T494.
The optimum viscosity is 20 to 27 seconds. However, this may vary according to the level of dilution chosen. Pot life is 3 months. Remember to shake your mixture well before application to make it homogeneous.
4. Adjusting the spray gun and application technique :
Using a Spray gun, adjust the diameter of your Nozzle to 1.2-1.4 mm. The dry film thickness should be 10-20 µm.
Apply one coat and wait for it to dry completely before applying a second. If you wish, you can apply a placement fog on dry film at an input pressure of 1.2-1.5 bar (except opaque colours).
Tech'team tip: A placement film that is too dry causes powdering, which encourages the Clearcoat to peel off.
5. Application of Clearcoat from the High Performance Envirobase range :
A number of Clearcoats from the PPG brand can be applied to your car body surface.
High Performance Envirobase offers excellent finishing properties and embodies the excellence of modern waterborne paint: precise, fast and easy to apply. By integrating seamlessly into the Envirobase system, it guarantees workshops consistent quality, regulatory compliance and maximum customer satisfaction, even on the most complex pigments.
