Why produce a Test cardboard?
Carrying out a Test cardboard is a necessary step for 3 main reasons:
- To determine the number of coats required on your vehicle.
- To adjust the perfect colour for your car body.
- Knowing the drying time: this is essential for obtaining a clean, precise result.
To reproduce the application conditions in the spray booth, we recommend that you sit in the same position as your vehicle to get the best possible result.
To do this
- Place 3 Test cardboards on a vertical support to adapt the distance when applying your Paint.
- The middle plate will be the one to keep.

Using the Test cardboard for your bodywork paints
The Test cardboard is to be used on the witness side. The black line is a reference for you to know the number of coats you will need.
This white Test cardboard is suitable for different types of colour, car paint or motorbike paint.
Tech'team tip: Adapt the background colour of your plate to the colour you're using. To do this, use a tinted Spray primer.
How do I adjust my spray gun?
You need to adjust your spray gun before applying the car paint for optimum results.
1.8 bar is recommended for the clear coat and for applying the first coat.
When the indicator is no longer visible, apply the metal placement film at 1.5 bar pressure and 20/25 cm from the substrate.
Tech'team tip: Degreasing your Test cardboards before applying the Paint is highly recommended.
