Use of Clearcoat D8131 and desolvation time between coats:
> Technical two-coat process:
Apply two normal coats to obtain a dry film thickness of 60-75 µm. Allow 5 minutes for desolvation between coats.
> Express one-coat process:
Apply a thin/light coat and a normal coat to achieve a dry film thickness of 50-60 µm. Apply the first coat to all the elements to be painted before applying a second coat.
Tech'team tip: When repairing less than 3 elements, allow 1.5 to 2 minutes for desolvating. If you are repairing 3 or more elements, this time is not necessary.
> Flooded connection method :
- Prepare the Blending area with the P3000 grade soft pad mounted on a DA sander.
- Do not apply too much Clearcoat around the periphery of the Blending area
- Immediately spray the periphery of the Blending area with Thinner (sprayable version) using Sata's 1.0-1.2mm Mini-jet spray gun.
- After drying and cooling, polishing can be carried out.
> Application on plastic substrates: textured finish :
To obtain a textured appearance, we recommend using PPG's D843 texturing agent in 1L or the D844 faux leather effect Additive, also available in 1L from the Carross website. For car repairs on flexible substrates, the D814 flexibilizer from the Deltron range is completely suitable.
