How do I use PPG F300 Base Paint?
1. Preparation of the bodywork surface :
Using a professional Degreaser, clean the surface to be painted to remove any grease, dirt or rust. Once cleaned, sand your surface with P600 to P800 grit sandpaper to prepare the area.
2. Mixing your car paint :
Make your mix using the proportions and Mixing ratios given in the manufacturer's technical data sheet, then mix to ensure it is homogenous before applying to your car surface.
3. Applying the base to your surface:
Apply the PPG Car Paint Basecoat in 2 to 3 Thin layers using a spray gun, then adjust the diameter of your nozzle to 1.2-.14 mm. It is important to wait 5 to 10 minutes between each coat to allow the solvents to evaporate. It is important to check the uniformity of the coverage between each coat.
4. Finishing the surface with Clearcoat :
Once the paint base is dry, apply a Clearcoat topcoat to add shine, protection and durability to your surface. The Clearcoat used can be a UHS or High Solid Clearcoat, depending on the level of gloss required.
