Description, characteristics and use of HF000 water-based paint from the Hydrofan range offered by Lechler
HF000 Paint is part of a waterborne paint system offered by the Italian brand Lechler. This line is an integral part of the HE Hydrofan Basecoat system, a water-based paint system specifically designed to offer professional results.
Characteristics of Lechler HF000 base colour:
This Basecoat has many features to meet the needs of the professional bodybuilder.
One of the main features of Hydrofan paint is that it can be diluted with water. This is a more environmentally friendly choice compared to solvent-based paint systems.
Lechler's Hydrofan range is designed for body shops. The HF000 base colour gives exceptional results, with high coverage and an even, high-quality finish. All the Basecoats in this line provide bodybuilders with an easy, fluid application, requiring fewer coats for optimum coverage.
Not only is drying time considerably reduced, but so is the time you have to wait between coats, so you can benefit from high productivity gains in the body shop.
To sum up, Lechler's Intense White Mix base colour has a number of advantages:
- Easy application, in the same way as traditional solvent-based two-coat lacquers
- Uniform matt surface appearance
- High Theoretical coverage
- Very high yield
- Exceptional gloss of the finishing system
- Excellent optical and mechanical performance over time
- Very easy to touch up
- Very low environmental pollution
Steps and types of use for Lechler Hydrofan HF000 :
Before applying your base colour, prepare your surface with a professional Degreaser, then sand if necessary.
Tech'team tip: Protecting unworked areas is essential to ensure good finishing results.
Use a traditional or HVLP paint spray gun. Here are the technical recommendations for adjusting your spray gun:
- Nozzle diameter: 1.2-1.4 mm
- Spray pressure: .2.5 bar
- Dry film thickness: 10-20 µm (microns)
- Theoretical coverage: 8.5 - 9.5m² at 20µ
Optimum application conditions :
- Temperature: 15-35°C
- Relative humidity: 35-85%.
1) Hydrofan range for complete or partial paints :
Apply a light coat then allow the colour to matt.
Tech'team tip: Remember to spray air with the spray gun to help the water evaporate.
Apply a wet coat evenly.
For metallic and pearlescent basecoats, before the surface becomes matt, it is important to apply half a coat at low pressure to achieve the right effect and shade. However, it is also possible to apply the final half-coat to the dry surface (Matt basecoat), bearing in mind that this could influence the final result (colourimetry).
Tech'team tip: For colours with little coverage, after the uniform coat, wait until completely matt and then apply a second coat.
1) Hydrofan range for touch-ups:
Evaporation time is 30 min at 20°C with relative humidity < 50% or 5 to 10 min at 40-60°C.
