Properties of Cromax® 1530W waterborne basecoat

Cromax® paints comply with Directive 2004/42/EC on VOCs. They have an excellent coverage/garnish balance and are ready to use after the tint has been weighed. This saves you a considerable amount of time and product. They can be used for all types of repairs: joints, panels and complete paints.

Preparing Cromax 1530W paint

Cromax basecoats are ready to use and require no thinning. Depending on the application conditions in terms of temperature and humidity, the bases must be mixed with binders:

• LV 1640WB binder (low viscosity)
• HV 1650WB binder (high viscosity)
• HT/FH WB400 Thinner

Preparing the surface

Clean the surface, then degrease it with a preparation cleaner. Carry out your repairs and sand the area concerned mechanically (P400-P500) or with water (P1000-P1200). Finish by removing the sanding dust and the final Degreaser.

Applying Cromax bodywork paints

Cromax finishes are applied in 2 operations. Except for metallic and pearlescent colours, which require 2 coats followed by a light 3rd coat.

Base for 1530W base colour

Cromax® hydro Matt basecoats can be applied to :

• All original and repaired finishes.
• Primers and 2K Refinish surfacers.
