Description 3M 2K epoxy adhesive 200ml for body panels

This professional adhesive, reference 08115 from 3M, is ideal for bonding various non-structural components made of steel, aluminium, thermosetting plastic and reinforced plastic (Fiberglass). This adhesive can also be used to reinforce various riveted or welded structural components. It can be used to replace body panels, door panels and roof panels.

Tech'team tip : Be careful not to use this professional adhesive on structural components (pillars, side members, radiator block supports, etc.).

Using 3M 08115 professional epoxy adhesive

  1. Before application, it is important to remove paint, rust and other surface contaminants using a 50 or 60 grit Abrasive discs or a stripping and cleaning disc until the bare metal is recovered.

  2. Once the surface has been treated, straighten the metal and hold the part in place with pliers and check that the alignment is to your liking.

  3. Once the surfaces are in place, clean with an all-purpose cleaner.

  4. Insert the glue cartridge into a Spray gun.

  5. Unscrew the glue cap and squeeze out the glue to check correct extrusion of the two components.

  6. Cut the end of the mixing nozzle as required.

  7. Attach and secure the mixing nozzle to the glue cartridge.

  8. Apply the adhesive to all the surfaces you wish to work on, using a plastic spatula.

  9. Spread the adhesive to create a base and form a bead of adhesive that will help protect the surfaces from corrosion. It is important to cover all bare metal surfaces completely.

  10. Then remove the excess adhesive to create a seal along the entire edge of the body panel.

  11. Finally, weld the appropriate areas.
