What are the advantages of De Beer's Primer 8-746, 8-74640 and 8-74610?

1- Direct application and great versatility:

These primers can be applied directly to unsanded OEM panels, but also to properly cleaned and sanded original OEM paint systems.

2- Highly compatible with a range of substrates:

These primers can be applied directly to properly prepared plastic parts using Plastic Primer 1-60. This ensures optimum adhesion to a variety of substrates.

3- Compliance with VOC regulations :

These products comply with the volatile organic compound limits set by Directive 2004/42/EC, with a maximum VOC content of 480g/l, helping to reduce environmental impact.

How do I apply De Beer Primer?

1. Surface preparation :

Before applying the mixture to your bodywork, it is essential to prepare your surface thoroughly. Using an anti-silicone Degreaser 1-951 and a micro-fibre cloth, wash your surface, then rinse. Once the surface is clean, start the Sanding stage using a P400 disc. Repeat the Cleaning operation after the Sanding stage so that your surface is ready.

Tech'team tip: Hide the vehicle completely to protect it from fog. After 48 hours, Sanding with P400-P500 grit is required to apply the Topcoat.

2. Paint gun settings :

  • HVLP and high efficiency: Nozzle diameter 1.3-1.4 mm / Air pressure 2/29

3. Application surfaces :

  • Unsanded, ridged and cleaned OEM electrocoated panels.
  • Original OEM paint system
  • Bare metal not exceeding 10 cm².

4. Application and number of coats :

We recommend, using the paint spray gun, the application of one coat with a dry film thickness of 30-35 µm.

5. Evaporation and drying time :

  • Evaporation: 12 minutes
  • Complete drying for optimum adhesion: 48 hours

6. Pot life :

Pot life at 20°C is 60 minutes.
