De Beer Plastic Primer 1-60: description, characteristics and advantages :
What is De Beer Plastic Primer 1-60?
De Beer Refinish Plastic Primer 1-60 is a one-component adhesion primer specially formulated for direct application to unpainted plastic substrates, without prior sanding. Easy to apply, extremely tacky and quick-drying, this solvent-based primer has been specifically developed to promote the adhesion of subsequent coats (primers, paint bases, clearcoats) to a wide range of plastics used in vehicle construction. Its ready-to-use formula and thin layer application make it particularly suitable for a rapid repair process, without compromising the quality or durability of the end result.
What are the technical advantages of using plastic primer 1-60?
1. Excellent adhesion to unpainted plastics:
Thanks to its specific formulation, Primer 1-60 guarantees exceptional adhesion to most plastics used in bodywork, including those known to be difficult, such as polypropylenes. It prevents the subsequent coats from delaminating, blistering or failing to anchor.
2. Ready to use (one-component) :
No mixing, catalyst or Hardener required: it can be used straight from the pot, simplifying work and reducing the risk of error. This makes it ideal for body shops looking for a fluid process.
3. Fast drying time:
Primer 1-60 dries in just 10 to 15 minutes at 20°C, allowing you to quickly move on to the next steps (filler primer or direct application of the base if the substrate allows). This saves a great deal of time in rapid repairs or continuous production.
4. Easy Thin layer application :
Professional 1-60 can be applied in an even layer, without the risk of over-thickness, drips or overloading. It provides an ideal base for even stretching and retaining the original texture of textured Plastic parts where necessary.
5. Extensive compatibility:
Compatible with all De Beer Paint systems, including waterborne basecoats and 2K Clearcoats, it integrates perfectly into existing painting protocols.
