Properties of PPG Greymatic insulating primer

Greymatic UHS Prima D8018 is easy to apply and sand. It is fast drying. It has the following properties

• Corrosion resistance
• Film thickness
• Surface levelling
• Gloss retention

Preparation of PPG Greymatic UHS bodywork primer

Depending on its dilution ratio, D8018 can be used as an insulating, filling or tracking (also known as wet-on-wet) primer.

The choice of Thinner and Hardener depends on the temperature:

• Up to 18°C: D8208 High Solid Hardener or D803 MS Hardener or D864 MS Hardener + D808 Thinner.
• From 18 to 25°C: High Solid Hardener D8208 or Hardener MS D841 + Thinner D866/D807.

It can be combined with the two primers in the same range, D8019 (Dark) and D8024 (Grey), to obtain 4 shades of grey.

Application of PPG D8018 Body Primer

Depending on the type of application chosen, the number of coats varies:

• Trim primer: maximum 3 coats
• Insulating primer: 2 to 3 coats
• Follow-on primer: 1 coat

Substrates compatible with D8018 Greymatic primer

This primer can be applied to original uniform paints, cataphoresis, glass or Fiberglass laminates, bare steel, polyester putties and adhesion primers.

It can then be overcoated with the Deltron® UHS, Deltron® Progress UHS DG and Envirobase® ranges.
