This special bodywork hardener is ideal for automotive applications because it offers a highly durable finish and fast drying to help bodywork specialists improve productivity in the workshop.
Technical characteristics of Hardener type UHS Premium D8302 :
1. High performance:
This Hardener is specially designed to provide a superior quality finish with a high, long-lasting gloss. It provides high resistance to scratches and weathering, ensuring the paint lasts longer.
2. Versatility of application:
PPG brand D8302 is formulated to work in a wide range of temperatures and conditions, making it adaptable to different working environments. It is particularly effective for PPG Basecoats, Clearcoats and UHS Paints.
3. Fast drying time:
This body repair hardener allows fast drying, optimising the application process and reducing Flash-off between layers, which is crucial for workshop productivity.
4. Smooth finish and excellent surface results:
It helps minimise surface defects, such as imperfection marks, thanks to its ability to level the painted application substrate.
PPG D8302 Hardener application steps:
1. Prepare the surface to be treated:
Thoroughly clean your bodywork substrate to remove traces of dust, grease and other contaminants. This will ensure better adhesion of the Paint. Use a professional Degreaser to prepare your surface, then wipe with a clean cloth.
2. Mixing the Hardener with the Paint :
Mix the standard D8302 with the paint or Clearcoat of your choice, according to the recommendations on the PPG product data sheet. Generally, the Mixing ratio is 2:1 (two parts Clearcoat to one part Hardener), but it is essential to check the product data sheets for precise and exact proportions.
If necessary, add a Thinner depending on the temperature and humidity conditions in the professional workshop.
3. Spray coats :
Apply an even first coat of paint or Clearcoat using a Spray gun. The Hardener makes it easier to spread and smooth the paint for a flawless finish.
Wait between 5 and 10 minutes to ensure it is completely dry.
Spray the second coat (and a third if necessary) to achieve an excellent finish on your surface.
4. Final drying time :
Allow your chemical to dry completely within the recommended times, which may vary depending on the temperature of the workshop. At higher temperatures, curing will be faster.
6. Polishing your bodywork :
Once the substrate is completely dry, and if necessary, polish for an exceptional finish and to remove micro-imperfections.
