What is the use of Sikkens spray primer?
Professional Spray Primer is a product designed for Spot-repairs in car bodywork. It is an easy-to-apply primer that offers a quick and effective solution for repairing damaged areas before applying paint.
How do I apply 1K Primer Spray?
1. Stir the Spray well before use.
2. The application distance is approximately 12-18 cm from the surface you wish to work on.
3. Apply 2 to 3 coats to your surface for better adhesion
4. Clean the Nozzle by holding the can downwards and pressing
5. Drying time :
- Between coats: 5-10 minutes at 20°C
- Complete drying: 30 min at 20°C and 15 min at 60°C
How strong is Sikkens Primer?
Spray primer provides body repairers with protection against corrosion, bad weather and UV rays. It can protect against the effects of the sun, humidity and extreme temperatures.
Composition of Sikkens Spot Primer Spray :
Spot Primer is composed of resins. This Spray product does not contain CFCs(chlorofluorocarbons, a subclass of fulorinated gases).
Applying Sikkens Spot Primer
Sikkens Spot Primer Spray is ready to use. It is applied to small surfaces that have been sanded (P220 - P320 end grain) and cleaned. Compatible substrates are :
- Steel
- Old coats of Paint
- Sikkens bases
- Washprimers and Washfillers
- Sikkens Primers
- Laminated polyester
- Polyester Putties
- Sikkens Polysurfacer
- Primer Surfacer EP II
Two to three single coats are required (wait 5 to 10 minutes between each coat). It is advisable to hold the Spray approximately 12 to 18 cm from the substrate and apply between 15 and 35°C (maximum relative humidity: 75%).
The product dries in 30 minutes at 20°C and 15 minutes at 60°C.
