Description of DP4000 2K primer
DP4000 is a wet-on-wet primer based on the latest acrylic technology. It can be used to optimise the repair process when combined with Envirobase High Performance and Deltron Progress UHS DG.
DP4000 ensures a high quality final appearance with properties as good as a sandable primer, without the need for sanding. DP4000 can also be applied as a filling primer with a maximum thickness of 110 microns.
Outstanding wet-on-wet finish quality, adhesion to a wide range of corrosion-resistant substrates and plastics without the use of primers, and a recovery time of up to 5 days are the key features of this product.
Application of DP4000 2K primer
Using DP4000 eliminates the need to sand the cataphoretic coating, speeding up the preparation of flawless new panels. DP4000 can be coated directly after 15 minutes, or up to 5 days without sanding, so new panels can be primed in advance and covered with the Topcoat at the same time as the vehicle. Waiting longer than 15 minutes allows the primer to achieve better tension and therefore a better quality finish. DP4000 primer does not require the use of a primer when applied to localised holes of up to 10 cm.
If the metal substrate is exposed on holes larger than 10 cm or when a bare metal element is painted, use wash primer D831, which allows the system to be maintained without sanding.
